The problems of these files range from not being able to handle the content itself in a single project to having to deal with embedded content and sometimes pixel length checks. Then you have to put the different projects back together into a single file when you're done!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Solution</strong></p><p>The Multilingual Excel FileType solves all of these problems and more. MT Enhanced for Trados Studio

<p><strong>Note: The plugin will no longer be maintained in favour of Microsoft Translation Provider and Google TP&nbsp;as separate apps.</strong></p><p><br></p><p>This plugin allows you to retrieve translations from either Microsoft Translator or Google Translate (support for V2 and V3 - AutoML), with some interesting added features explained below.</p><ul><li>Options to perform a batch find/replace on the source text before sending to the MT provider as well on the translated text returned, using files with a specific XML structure to specify find/replace pairs. Use this feature to redact sensitive data from your source text or to improve the results.</li><li>Text-only option: gives you the option of sending and receiving text only, and no tags.</li><li>The default setting is to not re-send translated segments: only sends segments with a 'Not Translated' segment status; conveniently navigate through your document or review it without increasing your character usage. Apply Studio Project Template

<p><strong>Apply Studio Project Template</strong> allows you to apply settings from a template (.sdltpl) or project (.sdlproj) to one or more projects.</p><p><u>The following settings can be applied:</u></p><p>- Translation Memory and Automated Translation*</p><p>- Translation Memory</p><p>- Terminology*</p><p>- Batch Processing</p><p>- Verification</p><p>- File Types</p><p><em>* - it's possible to merge the lists of translation and terminology providers</em></p><p>The settings can be applied to either the active project or all selected projects in the projects view.</p><p>Once installed, you will now be able to see the option to Apply Studio Project Template by right clicking on a project in the Projects view. applyTM Template

<p><strong><em>Problem</em></strong></p><p>Do you maintain many file-based Translation Memories? Have you ever had to update the segmentation rules, abbreviation lists, variable lists, or ordinal follower lists in Trados Studio? Have you ever wondered how to get all of these details from a <em>Language Resource Template</em>? If you have, then you'll be familiar with the effort that is required to make changes as they need to be applied across all of your Translation Memories one at a time; and with the inability to get at these resources once they are part of a template.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>Solution</em></strong></p><p>The applyTM Template application removes the repetitive effort that is required to make these changes. Now you can maintain one <em>Language Resource Template</em> and apply the changes to all of your Translation Memories in one go!</p><p><br></p><p>It works by selecting the template and then adding all of your TMs (browse or drag and drop) in one go; check the resources you wish to be updated based on your template; then click apply. You can maintain resources for multiple languages in the same template, and the application will show you visually which languages were changed or not.</p><p><br></p><p>You can also export these resources to Excel where it might be easier to carry out maintenance and then import them back into your template afterwards. DSI Viewer

<p><em><u>The Problem</u></em></p><p>One of the benefits of working with Studio is that it is unique amongst CAT tools in providing Document Structure Information that can be used to help provide additional context when translating. The downside of this feature is that you have to actively click the DSI column to see this information for each segment and you can't work on the translation while it is being displayed. The same thing goes for comments which can only be seen by scrolling through the comments view.</p><p><br></p><p><em><u>The Solution</u></em></p><p>The <strong>DSI Viewer</strong> solves this issue by providing you with a small viewer that you can position somewhere convenient on your screen and this displays the DSI information and comments for every segment you enter without you having to click anything.</p><p>Very handy when working with DITA files, custom XML files or even SDLXLIFF files that have been exported from SDL Passolo (these contain string IDs that are very useful when translating).</p><p>It's also particularly useful when working with Bilingual Excel files as these support the ability to add information from the Excel file to the Document Structure Information and/or comments.</p><p><br></p><p>To learn how to use this application, please visit <a href="https://community.rws.com/product-groups/trados-portfolio/rws-appstore/w/wiki/5563/dsi-viewer" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>DSI Viewer </strong></a> in the RWS Community wiki</p><p><br></p>
