TM Lifting

<p>Trados Studio 2014 SP2 introduced the concept of recognition for alphanumeric placeables.</p><p>If you want to update your existing Translation Memories to make use of this feature you have to do two things. First you have to check the Alphanumeric checkbox in "Fields &amp; Settings" in the Translation Memories View and then you have to Re-Index the Translation Memory.</p><p><br></p><p>Trados Studio 2017 introduced upLIFT. You need to run your TMs through a two stage process one at a time to be able to prepare them for fragment matching as part of the upLIFT feature. First you build your translation model and then you align the fragments in "Fragment Matching" in the Translation Memories View.</p><p><br></p><p>If you have many Translation Memories this exercise could take a long time! The "TM Lifting" application does a few important things:</p><p>1. It checks the box and re-indexes the TM if you wish to Reindex the TMs</p><p>3. It builds the translation model and aligns the fragments if you wish to prepare for upLIFT</p><p>3. It can do this for multiple TMs at the same time</p><p><br></p><p>So you can drag and drop your TMs into the application interface and then select "Reindex" or "upLIFT" and leave it to run. It will work as quickly as you have available resources on your computer. There is no progress indicator but rest assured it is working. TM Fusion for Trados (Preview)

<p><strong>TM Fusion for Trados</strong> is an advanced maintenance tool for translation memories in Trados Studio... so SDLTM files. These files are essentially SQLite so we have taken the open-source project <a href="https://github.com/sqlitebrowser/sqlitebrowser" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">DB Browser for SQLite</a> and published a modified version of it in the <a href="https://github.com/RWS/sdltm_browser" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Trados AppStore Team</a> github site. If you don't want to compile it yourself you can download a compiled version of the latest published build from here.</p><p>We have essentially added a <strong>Trados</strong> tab to the original application so that more advanced users can still use all the features of DB Browser for SQLite, but with the added convenience of customised Trados features that can do at least as much as the out of the box Trados Studio TM Maintenance tool and a bit more:</p><ul><li>fully supports regular expressions as well as plain text operations</li><li>simplified and advanced query capability using SQLite</li><li>batch edit features across translation units and field values</li><li>tag deletion features</li><li>various preset filters and the ability to create your own</li><li>Quick Filters on source AND/OR target translation units</li><li>import/export to TMX</li><li>it's fast!</li></ul><p>This release is being released as a <strong>Preview</strong> because we would like to have more user testing and feedback on this tool to establish its worth. <p>This plugin allows translators to file translator queries and upload them to Smartquery directly from within Studio. Also, it gives translators and project managers a convenient query tracking window, showing all queries related to the currently open document as well as queries which were logged from Passolo and/or the Smartquery web itself with their status and a direct link to the query itself.</p>

Sketch Engine - concordance, collocations, synonyms

<div>Parallel concordance, collocations and synonyms can be consulted by selecting text in the Trados Studio interface. Works with any Sketch Engine account, including a free trial account. The linguistic data are extracted from the EUR-Lex corpus in all languages of the EU.</div><div><br></div><div>Upon selecting a word or text, the plugin automatically searches the word sketch in Sketch Engine for the most typical collocations and word combinations such as modifiers or verbs, nouns, adverbs and adjectives that form the strongest collocations with the selected word.</div><div><br></div><div>Selecting a word and using the thesaurus will bring up a list of words which appear in the same context as the search word and can be used to replace the search word.
