NOTE: This is no longer being maintained.

About the app

Trados Analyse was the winning idea chosen by you in a competition to develop something Trados Studio users wanted the most. Trados Data Protection Suite

By Trados AppStore Team

The Problem

The protection of sensitive personal information in the translation process needs to address several issues.

First of all, how to protect data in translation files without exposing it to being retained in translation memories and bilingual files in a translation project.

Secondly, how to remove it from translation memories when it has already been stored.

And lastly how to retain awareness of who translated what without exposing data that is held in system fields and custom fields by the translation tools.

The Solution

The Trados Data Protection Suite combines two existing applications - project Anonymizer and SDLTM Anonymizer, giving you control over how sensitive data is managed.

Using plain text, or regular expressions, you can pseudonomize, or anonymize the data in your translation projects and translation memories. This helps you retain the benefits of using a translation tool by knowing who translated what work, without exposing this personal information to any unauthorised people you are sharing your projects with.

The application can be very useful in helping you meet your obligations with regard to legal requirements such as those laid down under GDPR.

To learn how to use this application, please check the Documentation tab.

In order to reset Trados Studio back to its default state you can follow the instructions here. Alternatively log a case with support via the gateway and select Trados Studio Licensing Help.

Trados Freshstart is a godsend for anyone participating in the Studio/MultiTerm Beta program, and it's also very handy for support engineers, help desk specialists and also individual users.

The idea is the application provides an easy way to reset all the user files in a couple of clicks without having to navigate through folders, making sure you have the right permissions etc. The application also provides a useful description of what each of the users files contains. This is particularly useful as it will help you to understand what data is held where and what the impact might be if you reset these files.

There is a restore function if you make a mistake, but generally none of the operations are fatal!

To install, download the zip file to your desktop. Unzip it and place the MSI file onto your desktop.

Now run the MSI installer by double clicking it.

Once installation is complete, you will find the start icon on your desktop which you simply double-click to run.

You must have admin rights to run this application!

To learn how to use this app and for more information, please check the Documentationtab.
