The AutoHotKey Manager provides a simple way to manage and share AutoHotKey scripts from within Trados Studio. AutoHotKey is a free scripting tool which you must have installed to be able to use the plugin effectively; you can get this <a href="https://autohotkey.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">from here</a>. Note: This application is no longer maintained or supported, as it has been removed from our development scope Many new computers today have the ability to provide a high resolution that offers many advantages such as:- Optimized usability and readability of applications on high-DPI displays- Better experience for multi-display systems- Possibility for developers to optimize app-specific scaling based on display DPIWhilst RWS is working on enhancing support for these high resolution environments it is a work in progress and often some of the menus and screens can appear very crowded and difficult to read.The solution to date is a KB article that offers several solutions, the last of which is a fix in the registry. This application automates the fix known as "Workaround 3" in <a href="https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001872" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">the KB article</a>.

DSI Viewer

The ProblemOne of the benefits of working with Studio is that it is unique amongst CAT tools in providing Document Structure Information that can be used to help provide additional context when translating. The downside of this feature is that you have to actively click the DSI column to see this information for each segment and you can't work on the translation while it is being displayed. The same thing goes for comments which can only be seen by scrolling through the comments view. The SolutionThe DSI Viewer solves this issue by providing you with a small viewer that you can position somewhere convenient on your screen and this displays the DSI information and comments for every segment you enter without you having to click anything.Very handy when working with DITA files, custom XML files or even SDLXLIFF files that have been exported from SDL Passolo (these contain string IDs that are very useful when translating).It's also particularly useful when working with Bilingual Excel files as these support the ability to add information from the Excel file to the Document Structure Information and/or comments. The termbase is not protected so you can edit it, export the collection, convert to another format... do whatever you like with it! It currently contains terms and their definitions in nine languages so if you would like to contribute your own language to the collection visit the <a target="_blank" href="https://community.rws.com/product-groups/trados-portfolio/rws-appstore/">RWS Community</a> and let us know. We'll give you the source file to translate and then we can add your work, with full credit to you, to the collection here on the RWS AppStore.

LanguageTool - Grammar and Spell Checker

Check your translation for style and grammar problems. LanguageTool Plugin is a verification module, which is used to check grammar, spelling, and linguistic errors in the translation. This plug-in integrates the LanguageTool grammar checker into Trados Studio and enables proofreading and grammar checking.  LanguageTool is an Open Source proofreading program for English, French, German, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Catalan, Spanish, Ukrainian and more than 30 other languages. It finds many errors and grammar issues that a simple spell checker cannot detect. To work with a local server you need to install JRE (Java) and download the desktop version of LanguageTool for offline use. Plug-in supports also online public and premium LanguageTool servers. MSWord Grammar Checker

The recommended choice for grammar checking is the <a href="https://appstore.rws.com/Plugin/95" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Language Tool plugin</a>. The Grammar Checker for Studio adds Microsoft Word grammar checking capability to the verification feature of Studio. No complicated setup, just install the plugin and run the verification batch task, or press F8, to use.The check can also work in real-time indicating possible grammar errors as you work segment by segment.The Grammar Checker relies on your installation of MSWord and supports grammar checking in the languages you have supported in MSWord. Once installed, restart Trados Studio and go to the Project Settings. Under 'Verification', make sure that the box is ticked for MSWord Grammar Checker for the app to start functioning.
