This app enables users working in the cloud to receive machine translation results from Google Translate.
You can directly install the Google Machine Translation Provider from within your cloud account. Simply select your account icon in the top right hand corner of the screen> RWS AppStore.
Please note: This app uses the Google Cloud Translation API, otherwise known as version 3, so you will need to create the necessary credentials before you will be able to make use of the available machine translation. You will need to purchase a subscription to Google Translate. Pricing is available through this Google website.

Technical Requirements
Following are the prerequisites to install and use the Google Machine Translation App:
Users should have an active Trados account.
Users should have necessary permissions on Trados to install app.
Users should have a valid Google Cloud Platform Account & Google Translate API Key.
Steps to get the Google Translate API Key (JSON):
Step 1: Access Your Google Cloud Platform Account
Log in to your Google Cloud Platform account. If you don’t have one, create it at https://cloud.google.com/.Step 2: Get the Google Translate API Key
a. Create a new project:
• In the top menu, select “Project” and then “NEW PROJECT”.
• Assign a name to the project and click “Create”.b. Set up the service account:
• In the side menu, select “IAM & Admin” and then “Service Accounts”.• Click “CREATE SERVICE ACCOUNT”.
• Fill in the required information and click “CREATE AND CONTINUE”.
• Grant permission.
c. Create a key for the service account:
• In the list of service accounts, locate the one you just created. Click the three vertical dots on the right and select “Manage keys”.• Click “ADD KEY” and then “Create new key”.
• Select the key type “JSON” and click “CREATE”. Save this file in a secure place; you’ll need it later.
d. Enable the Cloud Translation API:
• In the side menu, select “APIs & Services” and then “Library”.• Search for “Cloud Translation API” and click “Enable”. You may need to configure billing information.
e. Copy the content of the JSON file: Open the JSON file you downloaded and copy all its content. You’ll need it in the next step.
Step-by-Step Installation
Option 1: Install via RWS AppStore
a. Visit RWS AppStore
b. Search for "Google Machine Translation Provider for Trados Cloud"
c. Sign in to your Trados account
d. Click Install
Option 2: Install via Trados Account
a. Login to Trados
b. Click on Account Settings
c. Navigate to RWS AppStore
d. Locate Google Machine Translation Provider under Apps
e. Click Install
Once installed, enter the Google Service Account Key, Google Project ID and Google Cloud Location and click Complete.
- Google Service Account key (required):
Please copy the entire contents of the JSON file downloaded from the Google Cloud console and paste it into the Google Service Account Key field. - Google Project ID (optional):
The unique identifier for the Google Cloud Project. - Cloud Location(optional):
Specify the appropriate cloud location (e.g., US Central 1).
Updates
If an update is available, a notification will be sent via email or displayed in Trados notifications.
To check if any update to app is available, follow the steps below:
a. Login to Trados
b. Click the Account Settings icon in the top-right corner
c. Choose “RWS AppStore”.
d. Under Installed Apps, it will show either Up to Date or Update Available.
e. If an update is available, click on the app and select Update.
