The Problems

Problem 1: You work in a regulated industry and need to be able to ensure that legally binding inconsistent repetitions are used correctly throughout the round-trip of a project.

Problem 2: You want to be able to import multiple SDLXLIFF files and/or TMX files to multiple Translation Memories and stamp the TUs (Translation Units) with the filename of each imported file.

The Solution

This application, SDLTM ImportPlus supports the ability to import SDLXLIFF files and/or TMX files to multiple Translation Memories and optionally stamp each TU (Translation Unit) with the segment number and/or the file name. This provides the user working in a regulated workflow with the ability to verify that a pre-translation of an updated file is using the correct translation in the case where there are multiple translations by verifying against the segment number stored in the TM.

The application also provides the user who simply wishes to import multiple files into their Translation Memories and record the filename so they always know where the TUs came from and can easily remove, or edit them, using the batch editing features in Trados Studio.

SDLTM Import Plus enhances Trados Studio by allowing you to import SDLXLIFF and TMX files into multiple translation memories (TMs) efficiently. It can also stamp each translation unit (TU) with segment numbers and/or filenames for better tracking and compliance.

How to find the SDLTM Import Plus?

You can install the SDLTM Import Plus either from:

· From within Trados Studio via the Integrated AppStore

How to Use SDLTM Import Plus:

1. Open Trados Studio.

2. Find SDLTM Import Plus in the Tools or Add-ins menu and open it.

3. Choose the translation memories where you want to import the data.

4. Click to add SDLXLIFF or TMX files you wish to import.

5. Select options to stamp each TU with the segment number

and/or the filename.

6. Click the import button to begin the process.

7. Monitor the progress in the plugin interface.

Sometimes there is a need to open all the files in a virtual view and then save them as a single file to share with others. Sometimes you don't want to open the files at all, but you might want to split them or merge them to send to others.ResolutionThe solution to all of these requirements is studioViews. This application will not only allow you to export from the files view, filtered selections in the Editor view, or plain and simple segment selection, but it also allows you to import the translated file you exported back into your project and will update your files accordingly. The exported file is an SDLXLIFF and fully supports all the features of SDLXLIFF (segment statuses, match values, tracked changes etc.).
