1.How the plugin works

1.1 Sign in

1) After the plugin is installed you may access it in Studio by going to your Project Settings -> All Language Pairs->Translation Memory and Automated Translation and then click on the "Use..." button to expand the options:

2) A new window will pop up where you may enter your account ID and password for NiuTrans Cloud platform .

In case you haven't created an account on the NiuTrans Cloud platform yet, click "Sign up" and register for one.

After sign in is done, you may see NiuTrans plugin(NiuTransPublicMTProviderVx.x.x.x) on your page.

1.2 Setting

1) Click on the "Settings..." . A new window will pop up where you may choose dictionary and translation memory you have created on NiuTrans Cloud platform, and you may also select which domain of NiuTrans engine to use. After all the options are done, click the "OK" button to save the settings.

2) Click the "Sign out" button to delete the user credentials. After sign out is done, click on the "Settings..." to sign in again.

2.How to use the dictionary and translation memory of NiuTrans Cloud Platform

2.1 Create Dictionary and add terms

1) Open NiuTrans cloud platform homepage, and sign in with your account credentials. After you sign in, click "Console(控制台)".

2) At the console page you can create dictionary by going to Resource Management(资源管理) -> Dictionary(术语词典) -> Create Dictionary(创建词库) .

3) At the window of "Create Dictionary(创建词库)", create a dictionary name(词库名称) and click "OK(确定)". Note that you may take it as the default dictionary(设为默认词库).

4) After the dictionary is created(创建词库), click "Add Terms(添加术语)" and then enter the term management page.

5) At the term management page you may click "Add a Term(添加术语)" to add your own terms to the NiuTrans engine.

6) At the window of "Add a Term(添加术语)", select the language direction(语言方向) for the term, enter its original text(源语) and target translation(目标语).

Note that the language direction(语言方向) is Chinese-centered, that is, you may define the language direction between Chinese and another one foreign language, but not between two foreign languages.

7) At the term management page you may also click "Add Terms in Batch(批量添加)".

8) At the window of “Add Terms in Batch(批量添加术语)” you may download the “Sample File(示例文件)” by clicking on it, write your terms into the downloaded sample file, select the language direction(请选择语言方向) of the terms, and then upload the file to the NiuTrans engine.

Note that the file should be txt, UTF-8 without BOM, no more than 2M.

2.2 Create Translation Memory and add sentence pairs

1) At the console page you can create translation memory by going to Resource Management(资源管理) -> Translation Memory(翻译记忆) -> Create Translation Memory(创建句库) , and its operations are similar to the dictionary.

2) At the window of "Create Translation Memory(创建翻译记忆)", create a translation memory name(句库名称) and click "OK(确定)". Note that you may take it as the default translation memory(设为默认句库).

3) After the translation memory is created(创建句库), click "Add Sentence Pairs(添加记忆)" and then enter the translation memory management page.

4) At the translation memory management page you may click "Add a Sentence Pair(添加记忆)" to add your own sentence pairs to the NiuTrans engine.

5) At the window of “Add a Sentence Pair(添加记忆)”, select the language direction(语言方向) for the term, enter its original text(源语) and target translation(目标语).

6) At the translation memory management page you may also click "Add Sentence Pairs in Batch(批量添加)".
