This add-on enables users working in the cloud (through Trados Studio, Trados Team or Trados Enterprise) to receive machine translation results from the DeepL Translator - https://www.deepl.com/translator.


You can directly install the DeepL Machine Translation Provider from within your cloud account. Simply select your account icon in the top right hand corner of the screen> RWS AppStore.


Please note: You will need to purchase a subscription to DeepL Pro and you'll need an API key to use the add-on which you can obtain through DeepL sales. Pricing for the DeepL service is available through this DeepL website.

Language Cloud

The Language Cloud add-on is available by "downloading" the add-on from here. When you "download" the application you will be redirected and asked to sign in to your language cloud account. If you don't have one you won't be able to access the application at all.

There is no installation on your computer required as the installation takes place in your Language Cloud account where you will see something like this:


Clicking on the link will take you to the installation page where you simply click Install:


You'll then be asked for your API key to activate it so it's available to you for translating in the cloud:

Glossary Support through the Addon

This is a Language Pair to Glossary mapping: Enter your language pair to glossary associations in JSON format.

Glossary settings

There are 2 ways in which you can map LPs to glossaries:

1. Language Code

Troubleshooting:

Sometimes errors can be reported when trying to get a translation result from DeepL. This may be related to firewall restrictions which can be resolved by whitelisting the following domains:

www2.deepl.com

api.deepl.com

Sometimes there is a need to open all the files in a virtual view and then save them as a single file to share with others. Sometimes you don't want to open the files at all, but you might want to split them or merge them to send to others.ResolutionThe solution to all of these requirements is studioViews. This application will not only allow you to export from the files view, filtered selections in the Editor view, or plain and simple segment selection, but it also allows you to import the translated file you exported back into your project and will update your files accordingly. The exported file is an SDLXLIFF and fully supports all the features of SDLXLIFF (segment statuses, match values, tracked changes etc.).
