Description
Introduction
Lara is the Large Language Model translation service built for professional translators, combining advanced context understanding with seamless use of Translation Memories.
Key Features
Contextual Intelligence
Lara goes beyond surface-level translation by understanding the meaning of words and phrases in their context.
It can correctly interpret terms with multiple possible translations, such as those used in different domains (legal, technical, financial, or everyday language), delivering more accurate results from the very first draft and reducing the need for post-editing.
Learning from your work
Lara doesn’t just look up matches in your Translation Memories. It adapts its output to reflect the terminology and style you’ve used in previous projects, ensuring consistency and quality across all your translations.
Built for professionals
Lara supports Translation Memories and real-time adaptation, giving you both flexibility and reliability in every project.

Key Features
How to use the Lara plugin
You can use Lara AI Translation in Trados when starting a new project or by adding it to an existing one.
Just open your Project Settings, go to Translation Resources → Translation Memory and Automated Translation, and choose Lara Translation Provider from the Use… dropdown menu.
If it’s your first time using the plugin, a pop-up window will appear asking you to log in. You’ll be taken to the login page, where you can sign in with your Lara credentials.
Configuring the Lara plugin
You can customize Lara’s translations by connecting your own Translation Memories (TMs).
Once you select Lara as your MT provider, a page will open where you can decide which TMs to use in your projects. You can:
- Create a New Memory
- Import a TMX file
- Import from MyMemory
You’ll also see a list of all the Translation Memories already connected to your Lara account.
From here, you can select, update, or combine multiple TMs just by ticking the checkboxes.
Remember to enable the Update option in your Project Settings.
If it’s not activated, Lara won’t be able to learn from your edits.
Once everything is set up, Lara will provide you with personalized translation suggestions directly in the Trados Studio editor.
